AVL was nominated as a FAST partner of the Volkswagen Group at the
FAST Summit & Volkswagen Group Award 2019. The AVL CEO Prof.
Helmut List personally received the certificate of nomination by Stefan
Tägtmeyer, Head of Group Procurement General at Volkswagen, at the
event in Leipzig. The objective of the FAST (Future Automotive Supply
Tracks) supplier programme is to optimise and intensify cooperation between
suppliers and the Volkswagen Group.
"AVL is very proud to be one of the Volkswagen Group's most important
strategic suppliers and sees the nomination as a great opportunity to
continue to use its in-depth know-how to play a decisive role in shaping
future developments in key areas of the future," said Prof. Helmut List,
CEO of AVL List GmbH.
In the course of the event, the Volkswagen
Group informed its strategic
business partners about developments
in the coming years. The
meeting with more than 60 CEOs
and top managers from the supply
industry at the Porsche plant
in Leipzig focused on the topics of
digitisation, e-mobility and sustainable
and transparent supply chains.
To represent the environment model, the platform uses the object-oriented
description language Open Simulation Interface (OSI), which reduces
the complexity of environment model description and increases the platform’s
compatibility with sensors from different manufacturers. One frequently
occurring task, which can now be executed with high scalability,
is finding defined scenarios in a large quantity of data.
Dr. Jost Bernasch, Managing Director ALP.Lab GmbH: “As an Austrian
proving region for automated driving, ALP.Lab is provided with a modular,
rule-driven workflow and analysis tool, which allows us to conduct
comprehensive ADAS/AD tests and validations of driving functions on
public roads and proving grounds. In doing so, extensive vehicle, sensor
and infrastructure data are collected, merged, analyzed and further processed.
Particularly when it comes to processing the huge volumes of data
generated in testing, the AVL data platform with the integrated analysis
tool DaSense is essential for handling the data bulks efficiently.”
