‹AVL›: How do you ensure that your energy storage systems always
meet requirements?
‹VA/ST›: We develop tomorrow’s battery systems together with our customers,
who supply a number of requirements which we match to our
expertise in thermal management and battery management. I think that, in
future, aspects like thermal management and battery management systems
will be decisive as to how much quality was put into an energy storage
system’s development, and how successful it will ultimately be on the market.
The third crucial factor is the battery cell, which must comply with stateof
the-art technology.
‹AVL›: What made you decide to team up with AVL on this project?
‹VA/SO›: I appreciated the trusting relationship we had right from the start.
And I was particularly pleased that we’d found a team in Graz that worked
with a high level of motivation and the necessary drive. From a technical
point of view, AVL offers a powerful, turnkey solution that gives us the experience
and safety we need to achieve our objectives in the shortest time
possible. The present solution shows that we have developed a state-of-theart
testbed that will be unbeatable in terms of performance and efficiency.
‹AVL›: You were looking for a partner offering comprehensive expertise.
Have you found that partner in AVL?
‹VA/SO›: AVL has extensive experience with innovative HVS testbeds. The
ability to offer a broad range of software solutions and highly automated
processes will become more and more important in eDrive testing. AVL
delivers what we are looking for in a future partner.
‹AVL›: How does AVL’s container lab support you in the development
and testing of your products?
‹VA/GE›: The automation and planning software used in the containers
by AVL helps us to plan, utilize and monitor testbed capacities in the best
way possible. That gives us, and our customers, maximum reliability –
with regard to the agreed deadlines, our facilities, the units under test, the
people/staff and the environment.
