A DIGITAL EXPERIENCE

ENGINE &
ENVIRONMENT:
Sometimes innovations require
not only masterminds and inventors,
but also a decisive impulse
from outside. The strict measures
of the Austrian federal government
against the spread of COVID-19 left
organizers little room for maneuver.
However, as an important guide for
the automotive industry in terms of
more environmentally friendly mobility
solutions, neither cancellation
nor postponement was an option for
the AVL Engine & Environment
Trend Conference. “Information
and facts are key in uncertain times,”
said Prof. Robert Fischer, AVL Executive
Vice President. Company
representatives, experts, researchers
and engineers should still be
able to exchange opinions on the
latest developments and trends despite
the global crisis. A new format
was needed to make this possible.
A NEW COMMUNITY
As a logical consequence, all relevant
information for the 32nd edition
of the trend conference was
transferred to a 360° showroom
and made suitable for online use –
100 % digital, 100 % free of charge.
The result: together with participants
and top-class keynote speakers,
AVL established a completely
new type of event community on
the digital platform thedigitaltrendconference.
com.
New challenges call for new ideas. AVL successfully
launched the first digital powertrain conference.
