THE EFFECTIVE
WAY OF LINKING
SIMULATION AND
MEASUREMENT DATA
AVL sets new standards for
managing and processing large data
volumes. The latest software tool generations
3 4 F O C U S
of the AVL Team SUITE™
– AVL SANTORIN MX 2™ and
AVL CONCERTO 5™ – interlock
perfectly, allowing development organizations
to integrate test data across
department boundaries, taking their
knowledge to the next level.
In view of the growing level of vehicle
connectivity, systems thinking,
along with multidisciplinary collaboration,
has become the key to fast and
innovative development processes.
With the new software generations,
AVL SANTORIN MX 2™ and
AVL CONCERTO 5™, AVL has
further improved the basis for such
an approach. The interacting solutions
of the AVL Team SUITE™ enable
a uniform evaluation of heterogeneous
data from the simulation and
measuring environment. These can be
interlinked and enriched with additional
information such as videos or
GPS tracks, allowing engineers to filter
out what is essential from the torrent
of available test data, and implement
well-founded decisions without
major efforts. <
IMPROVING SAFETY
IN AUTONOMOUS DRIVING
The safety of advanced driver
assistance systems depends heavily
on their ability to perceive the environment
and draw the right conclusions.
Objects like streets, buildings,
trees, vehicles, pedestrians or
animals have to be detected quickly
in order to properly assess their
future behavior and respond accordingly,
e.g. brake in time. In the
context of the “Dynamic Ground
Truth” (DGT) research project, under
the consortium leadership of
AVL, a high-resolution measuring
system is used to capture reliable
environment data, with the aim of
developing a corresponding sensor
system and a functional prototype.
The purpose of sensors in currently
available vehicles, e.g. cameras, radar
sensors or ultrasonic sensors, is
to identify objects. The DGT system
captures the objects with high accuracy
and is able to compare them
with the objects detected by the vehicle.
For further processing at a
later point in time, the anonymized
information from all sensors is recorded.
This enables the generation
of scenarios for environment simulation
tools, which, in turn, allows the
reproduction of real scenarios in the
simulation. <
STANDARD TESTS AS BASIS FOR
INNOVATIVE TEST FIELDS
The intelligent test automation
AVL CAMEO 3™ allows the standardization
of test runs for powertrain
calibration throughout the company.
The solution enables OEMs to sig-
nificantly increase efficiency in their
test fields. In addition, all calibration
engineers, not only experts, can profit
from the latest calibration approaches
supported by AVL CAMEO 3™.
Thanks to AVL CAMEO 3™, users
can now easily develop standard tests,
which are tailored to their company.
Moreover, these tests can be rolled
out reliably to the overall test field.
An additional advantage of standardization
is that the test results become
globally comparable, as they can be
reproduced under exactly the same
conditions. <
