‹F.›: Emotion plays a key role when
buying a car. How does Kia manage
the fine balancing act between
driving pleasure, fuel economy and
environmental compatibility?
Driving pleasure and low emissions
are not mutually exclusive.
We have made significant efforts
to reduce our whole fleet emissions
in recent years, with more efficient
EcoDynamics combustion engines,
and new hybrid and electric vehicle
technologies. Yet our cars are more
enjoyable and confidence-inspiring
to drive than ever.
‘Emotion’ is one of the main reasons
that our customers choose Kia cars,

with the design and driving character
of our cars often cited as key reasons
for purchase. Turbocharged engines
mean drivers can enjoy responsive,
fast-revving engines, while enjoying
lower emissions. Technologies
such as torque vectoring by braking,
or carefully-tuned electronic
stability control, mean drivers can
take on winding roads with confidence.
The adoption of mild-hybrid,
hybrid and electric powertrains will
also let drivers enjoy more immediate
acceleration while also reducing
their total cost of ownership.
One key area where Kia leads the
market in particular is in design.
Design has been a strength of ours
for a number of years, and the latest
models – such as the new Kia Ceed
and Kia Stinger – are more appealing
to car buyers than many other
cars on the market. We think owners
should love the way their car
looks, as well as the way it drives.
