THE HUMAN FACE OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
But for us the key to being able to offer the best serial development is not
just about the technology, or even our global infrastructure that puts our
expertise on OEM’s doorsteps. It is about the systems and culture that
we have developed for understanding the unique identity and needs of
our customers.
“Our USP is that we are globally present,” explains Diethard Jeitler, Skill
Area Manager, Simultaneous Engineering. “But that doesn’t just mean we
have fully equipped Tech Centers in all major markets around the world.
It also means that we have a deep understanding of the culture and the
serial development process of the customers we work with.”
Knowing how to communicate and, more importantly, listen to the needs of
the customer is something that’s built into the heart of our serial development
process. Tailor-made cooperation models can be specifically adapted
to the customer’s organization and processes. With integrated analysis techniques
and targets created from the perspective of the end-customer – the
driver – we work to ensure our customer’s brand values are bolstered by
our technical know-how.
“Our intention is to understand the DNA of our customer’s products and
to offer services aligned with their brand identity,” says Jeitler. “You cannot
describe everything with quantitative requirements, so it’s crucial that you
understand the meaning behind the data and the technology. What do our
customers want? And what do their customers want? In the end our solutions
are different from customer to customer.”
Behind the organisations, the technologies and, ultimately, the steering
wheels, are people. At AVL we understand this, and this is what makes
our approach human-centered, innovative and successful.
Jeitler explains: “Personal contact is very important, and we focus on
listening to and understanding our customers. It is a business with a lot
of complexity, but on the other side there is still room for real innovation
and differentiation, and that can only occur when you work with passion
and creativity.”
