Our modern transmission test systems are built to validate any kind of transmission with different types, speeds, torques, and power classes. The biggest challenge is replacing a transverse mounted ICE or e-motor in a close axle arrangement. The AVL drive unit must cover the desired speed and torque requirements, and fit into a given installation space. Our transmission test systems cover the variability of e-axles in a co-axial or offset arrangement, and the connection of e-motor to transmission with intelligent mechanical solutions. The optimized toolchain significantly reduces the duration of the design and validation process. Transmission tests can be executed in an early development phase without having a mature propulsion unit. This minimizes the risk of design changes in a later stage of the development process.
We add even more value to the testing process with our AVL PUMA 2™ automation software, which synchronizes measurements from every device. This high level of data quality – combined with the system’s precise measurement and control and simulation capability – ensures that our customers can develop transmission systems within a reduced timespan, by performing transient tests, time lapse tests, or tests in road load simulation.
Nothing is more constant than change. Propulsion system architecture and components have changed dramatically in recent years. Consequently, use cases and applications have also changed. AVL has always been able to design the right solutions for our customer needs. Meaning our customers can focus on their development and trust their measurement results.”
