AVL TechDay Emission

EU7

The Euro 7 emissions standard is the next regulation to be introduced in Europe. It will apply to passenger cars and light commercial vehicles from mid-2025 and to trucks and buses from mid-2027. The new legislative standard will not only harmonize emission-related limits for gasoline and diesel engines, but will also significantly expand them with several new elements:

•    New gas components to be tested
•    Modified test procedures for real driving conditions (RDE)
•    Evaporative emissions from refueling (EVAP)
•    Brake emissions and tire wear
•    Battery life and battery capacity verification
•    Introduction of on-board monitoring (OBM)

All of these have an impact on drive concepts, exhaust gas aftertreatment and vehicle homologation. At the same time, these effects imply specific adaptations to the hardware and software of the test facilities.
Our team of experts and engineers is constantly developing new and innovative solutions to meet the requirements of each new emission test. For example, AVL has developed suitable solutions for Euro 7 compliant testbeds and PEMS technology. Our products and tools support you to achieve the high standards for low future emissions. Thereby, our concept is based on the extension of existing test equipment to avoid expensive new investments and to achieve new standards in short term with reasonable effort.
Technology openness is the solution for a more sustainable future, and we are constantly working to find the best possible solution for our customers.
At the AVL TechDay Emission in Leimen near Heidelberg (Hotel Villa Toskana, Hamburger Str. 4 – 10), Germany, we focus on the overall context of Euro 7 and present our solutions:

•    Euro 7 – current status of the emission legislation
•    Passenger cars – AVL testbed concept for vehicle validation according to Euro 7 (emission chassis dynamometer, SHED)
•    Commercial vehicles – AVL testbed concept for engine tests according to Euro 7 and engine development (emission measurements, H2-ICE testbed)
•    PEMS system for RDE tests on passenger cars and commercial vehicles
•    Detailed presentation of new measurement technology to meet Euro 7 development and certification requirements (NH3 PEMS, mobile FTIR, etc.)
•    H2 spectrometer – emissions from the hydrogen combustion engine
•    Technical exhibition with new test systems and equipment
