As Executive Vice President for Engineering and Technology Mario Brunner is responsible for technical and operational management, as well as the technological direction of the engineering segment.
Mario Brunner graduated from the Higher Institute of Technical Education for aeronautical engineering and then attended the University of Applied Science FH Joanneum in the field of automotive engineering before joining AVL in 2004. Within AVL, he developed through various stations from Calculation to Specialist Team Leader for Passenger Car and Light Duty Transmission Systems, Software, Simulation and Testing. In addition to this function, he supported AVL's transmission and electrification business in East Asia through his on-site stays in China. Upon his return, he became Division Manager for Passenger Car and Light Duty Transmission, ensuring technology expansion and profitable growth. In 2021, Mario Brunner held the position of Area Manager Deputy for Systems Engineering, Powertrain Electrification and Transmission, before taking on his current role.
