AVL Trend Conference from April 17th – 18th, 2024 at Helmut List Hall Graz

10. AVL High Power Systems Conference

Shipping aims at becoming climate-neutral by 2050. At the AVL High Power Systems Conference at Helmut List Halle in Graz from April 17-18, international experts will discuss which solutions will help the industry to achieve its net zero CO2 goal. As a keynote speaker AVL welcomes Claus Graugaard, Chief Technology Officer Onboard Vessel Solutions, Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping. Further impulses will come from Hyundai Heavy Industries, MAN Energy Solutions and many more.

Graz, Austria, April, 2024: Which drive systems will we encounter in rail and shipping in the future? Which tools and methods will we need to lead the sector into a climate-neutral future and what legal framework conditions and regulations will play a role? These and other questions will be addressed by experts from the industry, development and research at the two-day AVL High Power Systems Conference. The focus will be on energy life cycle management, the use of power-to-X technologies and the use of alternative fuels such as hydrogen, ammonia or methanol.

Claus Graugaard, Chief Technology Officer Onboard Vessel Solutions, Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping: "There is an urgent need for joint action in the shipping industry. The spirit of cooperation between the players across the entire value chain contributes significantly to the goal of decarbonizing the industry. This is also evident at the AVL High Power Systems Conference. The Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping was established to harness the power of collaboration and navigate through the complexity of business frameworks, regulations and technological innovation."

KangKi Lee, Senior Vice President High Power Systems, AVL: "Energy lifecycle management plays a central role in our journey towards a more sustainable shipping industry. One of our priorities is to improve the efficiency of all systems and the entire powertrain as much as possible. We look forward to discussing this with leading representatives from research and development as well as prominent industry experts at the AVL High Power Systems Conference."
