Stuttgart, January 23, 2025 - Minister of Economic Affairs Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut visited the AVL Tech Center in Bietigheim-Bissingen to gain a comprehensive insight into the site's state-of-the-art testing and development facilities.

During her visit, AVL presented the Minister with, among other things, an e-axle test bench that enables acoustic measurements and offers an innovative test environment for electrified powertrains. Other highly specialized test facilities were also presented, including powertrain test benches for the development of highly integrated drive concepts, roller test benches for the precise measurement of emission and consumption cycles and test facilities for battery cells.

These advanced technologies underline the Tech Center's key role in the development and optimization of modern and sustainable drive solutions.

“Sustainability is not just a goal for AVL, it is firmly anchored in our corporate DNA. Our experts work every day to develop innovative solutions that accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility. We see ourselves as a know-how provider and pioneer for the mobility of the future. Our commitment ranges from basic research to the market maturity of new technologies. In doing so, we rely on close cooperation with partners from industry, science and politics. We are proud to be making an important contribution to the mobility of tomorrow,” explained Roland Jeutter and Jan Marek, Managing Directors of AVL Germany.

Minister Hofmeister-Kraut emphasized the importance of the AVL Tech Center as a driver of innovation:
“The visit to the AVL Tech Center really enriched my day and cemented my belief in the strength of the German automotive industry and its innovative power. The facility is an example of sustainable mobility and the future viability of the industry in our region. I am positive about the future, but in order to successfully shape change, we need pragmatic solutions and future-proof models. It is crucial that new and adapted framework conditions enable technological progress without leading the industry into a dead end through over-regulation. We need to create space for creative, market-oriented developments in order to actively shape the mobility of the future.”

The AVL Tech Center Stuttgart in Bietigheim-Bissingen is a central hub for collaboration with customers and partners from the automotive industry. This is where innovative solutions are created that accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility and make the vision of a climate-neutral future a reality.
