Matthias Dank Returns to AVL and Joins the Executive Board

AVL List GmbH has appointed Matthias Dank as new board member and Executive Vice President (EVP). The top manager with international experience was previously at McLaren Applied, where he was Director of Motorsport.

AVL List GmbH has appointed Matthias Dank as new board member and Executive Vice President (EVP). The top manager with international experience was previously at McLaren Applied, where he was Director of Motorsport. As of January 1, 2023, the 45- year-old is responsible for the business development, sales and international operations of AVL in the instrumentation and test systems sector.

Graz, Austria, January 23, 2023: Matthias Dank, previous motorsport executive, is joining AVL List GmbH. The engineer and mathematician has more than 20 years of professional experience in product and technology development, engineering management, and business transformation. Between 2010 and 2020, he was responsible for the Motorsport business in AVL's Instrumentation and Test Systems Division. In 2020 he was appointed Director of Motorsports at McLaren Applied, a world-renowned company in electronics, communications, electrification, software, and analytics.

Returning to AVL, Dank is taking on the role of EVP Global Business Development, Sales, and International Operations in the Instrumentation and Test Systems Division. In addition to his many years of experience in the general automotive industry besides global motorsport, he also brings extensive expertise in business development and global sales relating to complex systems, software, analytics, and digitalization. His many recent technology projects include the successful launch of a new generation of motorsport and rapid prototyping control units and securing major long-term supply contracts involving electronics and analytics software until 2030 and beyond.

With the appointment to the executive board, AVL is adding an expert in important strategic decisions to their ranks. In doing so, the company continues to advance the technological policy adopted and meet the rapidly changing requirements of the market.
