New Hires at AVL Italia: 50 New Engineers and Specialized Technicians This Year

New Employees to Strengthen the Electrification and Software Development Divisions

Dino Brancale (Managing Director): “The European Union is pushing for more electromobility. We are ready for this! And in the heavy-duty sector we continue to carry out research and develop alternative solutions as well, in particular those relating to hydrogen."

New Hires at AVL Italia

Turin-Cavriago (Reggio Emilia), February 22, 2023 – AVL Italia, a leading company in the development, simulation, and testing of automotive systems, starts 2023 with important news regarding the expansion of its workforce. The company plans to hire 50 engineers and specialized technicians, on both permanent and temporary contracts, in the new year. The development areas include the following fields: electrification, development of software and controls, ADAS and smart vehicles, as well as project management. 40 of the new hires will be assigned to the Powertrain Engineering division, and 10 will be assigned to the Instrumentation & Test Systems section.

The plan for the new recruits is to join AVL Italia at a rate of 15 new workers per quarter. They will be assigned to the Turin office and to the Technical Center in Cavriago (Reggio Emilia) and will supplement the 95 employees hired in 2022. This amounts to an increase in personnel of 145 people between 2022 and 2023.

“The new hires will mainly provide support for the divisions linked to electrification,” says Dino Brancale, Managing Director of AVL Italia. “They will enable us to continue working on the development of e-drives, which are becoming increasingly important on the market – particularly in the wake of the recent approval of the European regulation on the ban of sales of new gasoline and diesel cars from 2035. However, this is not the only solution in terms of reducing CO2 emissions. If we look at the transport sector as a whole and the entire lifecycle of a vehicle, where greater ranges and higher energy densities are required, there are alternative solutions to electrification. These are the ones we are investigating today, with both hydrogen-powered internal combustion engines and fuel cells, as well as with synthetic fuels”.

AVL Italia also pursues the values of sustainability when it comes to managing human resources and is committed to improving the work-life balance to make the company an increasingly sustainable workplace. So, the new hires expected this year will benefit from the opportunity to make use of two days of smart working a week and to take part in training courses offered by the company.
