AVL Recognized as a Top Workplace by Detroit Free Press

  • News

AVL is one of this year's Top Workplace winners among large-sized companies. The mobility technology company empowers employees to strengthen their skills and fosters an environment that spurs entrepreneurial thinking.

Each year, the Detroit Free Press, and its research partner, Energage, survey employees from companies across the state of Michigan about workplace culture, benefits, amenities, salary, and job satisfaction.

These companies range in size and are categorized as small companies, which have 50-149 employees, medium with 150-499 employees, and large with 500 or more employees. After being categorized by size, employees at each company receive a survey. The survey responses determine how each company is ranked in the Top Workplaces contest.

Across the 24 questions in the anonymous Energage survey, AVL’s team members consistently expressed that the company motivates them to give their very best at work and would highly recommend working at AVL to others.

"We are proud to create an environment where our employees are encouraged to be free-thinkers and pursue innovative ideas. We take pride in making AVL a place where people are excited to come to work and each day have new chances and opportunities to learn and grow,” commented Joyce Weishaar, Executive Director of Human Resources at AVL.

AVL is headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan, and operates technical centers in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Lake Forest, California. The employer offers both competitive pay and benefits. As part of a global network, employees also enjoy travel and opportunities for diverse, multicultural working environments.

Beyond the walls of the workplace, AVL invests in and supports the communities it serves. AVL is dedicated to serving our youngest community members and the brightest minds by supporting the SAE Foundation to help make STEM education accessible to students of all backgrounds. Throughout the year, AVL team members also came together to support the Gleaners Food Bank, Toys for Tots, Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology, and Detroit Children’s Fund among other causes.

AVL is honored to be recognized by its team members as a top workplace. At AVL, we believe that our greatest asset is the people behind our technologies. Together, we are innovators, researchers, and technical leaders who are helping forge the future of mobility.
