Working Location – Dependent on the position requirements at hand, AVL in North America works to provide a work-life balance providing flexibility and supporting success. For employees able to work a hybrid or remote schedule, this simply requires approval from the supervisor, in addition to HR when needed. For those working onsite, AVL continues to update working locations.
Work Week – For direct hire, full-time employees, work weeks are a minimum of 40 hours per week. Working times are agreed between employees and supervisors. Most areas are required to work core hours, however, can fluctuate their schedule so long as the core hours are met. For employees eligible for overtime or straight-time, this is subject to supervisor approval.
Vacation – Annual vacation is issued to all direct, full-time employees. Vacation balances will typically start at 15 days per year and increase with years of service.
Holidays – Pending on your country of employment, AVL observes approximately 13 holiday dates per year, using floater days around some holidays. Holidays are communicated during open enrollment before each coming year.
Medical Coverage – Our employee’s health is important to us. We offer various options for medical coverage to our employees to provide options in choosing the plan that works best for them.
Health and Wellness Week – Health and Wellness is important to highlight. At AVL North America we celebrate during a week each year by offering activities, seminars, and tools to promote health and wellness within our AVL community.
Walking Challenge – AVL North America hosts an Annual Walking Challenge annually. This is a great event for all our employees to participate in, providing a friendly competition and focus on movement. This challenge typically kicks off right before our Health and Wellness Week.
TPA Support – In addition to assistance provided by our HR team, AVL’s benefits are supported by third-party administrator. This helps to ensure our employees always have immediate support regarding their benefits, whenever needed.
Internal Training – AVL North America recognizes global and localized trainings that are required per the position at hand. Global trainings are conducted through the AVL Academy, whereas local training may be held in-person internally or through experts externally. These trainings offer career development and additional insights.
Tuition Reimbursement – AVL North America provides tuition reimbursement to eligible employees furthering their education. A simple process is required to be followed to receive the tuition reimbursement amount of $5,250.00 per year.
Celebration Success Together – AVL North America celebrates and engages employees through different programs and company events. In addition, we celebrate the internal movement of our employees through a company communicated people on the move. Additional programs, such as service awards are in place to recognize employee’s significant years of service with the company.
Work-Life Balance – We put forth an extra effort to allow for flexible working hours for eligible positions, provided required core working hours for that role are met. This allows for workdays to start and end with flexibility. In addition, working location is considered and flexibility is allowed when possible.
Holidays and Vacation – We acknowledge a competitive amount of holiday time each year. In addition, all direct, full-time employees are eligible for a vacation package beginning at 15 days per year.
Maternity and Paternity Leave – AVL North America does acknowledge the importance of maternity and paternity leave. Maternity leave is provided through our Short-Term Disability and FMLA policies. Paternity leave has an additional policy in place, in addition to potential FMLA consideration.
Financial Support – Employees are eligible to elect loans through AVL’s 401k provider as needed to subsidize if financially required.
Relocation Assistance/Support – Relocation financial and directional support is provided by our HR team. We work to provide optimal temporary accommodations as noted in the offer agreement, in addition to any other noted services/accommodations.
Immigration Support – Our HR team works with our approved immigration attorneys to determine the required process and supports our international hires through that process.
United States Resources – Our HR team has developed a dedicated resource page to be utilized by all relocating internationals. In addition to this resource, HR and the management assist and support questions/needs to the best of our ability.
Discounts – AVL North America monitors a variety of discounts employees are eligible to receive. All eligible discounts are posted on the internal HR intranet discount page.
Employee Events – We host multiple events throughout the year. Events can range from small team events to full company events. We host the majority of larger events onsite at our Plymouth location. Featured events include Oktoberfest and a company BBQ.
