In terms of technology, innovation and the wide-ranging possibilities they offer the automotive industry, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD) are incredibly exciting. It was not long ago that the self-driving car was pure imagination. But today’s technology will make it a reality very soon.

At AVL, we are actively shaping and designing the thrilling new technologies that will play a critical role in future mobility options.

As part of the automated and connected mobility team at AVL, you can expect to fill an average day with exciting tasks. But no good opportunity comes without a certain level of responsibility. Yes, you will get to design and imagine the vehicles of tomorrow, sit inside working prototypes and lay claim to the fact that you worked on something that has transformed the world of mobility. But making this a reality is a demanding job.

You will have to balance optimal driveability with comfort and efficiency. Safety is also of great importance. How do we ensure that a vehicle can perform safely under any condition? How does the weather affect lane-changing or even just staying within the lane itself? Thankfully, we have a virtual 3D test environment where we can answer these questions by testing, simulating, validating and optimizing the next generation of assisted driving systems and, ultimately, autonomous vehicles.
