Battery and Fuel Cell
Range, performance, costs and safety are the parameters by which electrified vehicles are measured. As a central object, the battery has great potential here. The right design and a smart operating strategy are the key to optimal use. However, once it has reached the end of its lifetime in the vehicle, using it as a large-scale storage unit offers the battery a sustainable second life.
Fuel cells and electrolyzers are excellent solutions for efficiently achieving a CO2-neutral future. Especially since their application is multifaceted. It ranges from vehicles of all sizes to energy generation and storage to the starting point for synthetic fuels (e-fuels). Develop and optimize targeted fuel cell systems by using our simulation solutions and methods in all steps of your development process. Find out how simulation can help you make not only your fuel cell system, but more importantly, your way of working sustainable and efficient.
Durability, NVH and Transmission
AVL is a leader in the use of simulation in vehicle development. Our simulation solution for combustion engines is used by most engine manufacturers worldwide. With simulation, we achieve three things in powertrain development: First, we ensure durability for all components - from the crankshaft to the connecting rod and plain bearings to the entire valve train.
Second, simulation helps make the engine more efficient. Mechanical friction can be identified and specifically reduced with detailed tribological models for the plain bearings and piston assembly. This allows us to optimize the mechanical efficiency of internal combustion engines to the maximum.
Thirdly, vibration and acoustics of the powertrain can also be simulated. To do this, we look at the engine in conjunction with the transmission and, in the case of hybrid vehicles, also in interaction with the electric motor.
Vehicle Attributes and Systems
The demands placed on modern vehicles go far beyond pure transportation. In addition to performance and energy consumption, the decisive factors are above all subjective attributes that make up the driving experience and ensure comfort. With electrification, vehicles are becoming increasingly complex. To find the ideal vehicle concept, a large number of variants have to be virtually evaluated and decisions made in a very short time.
Internal Combustion Engines
We have been dedicated to the combustion engine for over 70 years. This long experience is reflected in our innovative and intuitive simulation solutions. Create Virtual Twins of your development objects. Determine the different performance parameters and optimize them virtually. The exact images of the real objects allow you to make targeted predictions.
As a software and development service provider, we offer you expert support through all development steps - not only for the automotive industry, but also for maritime and stationary applications.
Showcase your company and products to an expert audience and meet and network with customers from leading manufacturers, suppliers and research institutes.
