AVL CEO Prof. Helmut List and his wife Kathryn List were awarded the jury prize “Maecenatentum” by the independent economic committee “Initiativen Wirtschaft für Kunst” at a festive gala in Vienna, which was attended by numerous guests from the worlds of business, culture, politics and media. This prize honors personalities from Austria who have rendered outstanding services to art and culture at home and abroad with their actions. Prof. Helmut List: “For AVL, the proximity to art means that we can also improve and further develop our creativity.”

Guided by the principle that technological progress and artistic creation are connected, AVL’s research and development results are brought into an artistic and aesthetic context in numerous projects. An example of how AVL has successfully bridged the gap between science and art is the Helmut List Halle, where the company has incorporated its entire acoustics expertise.

Born out of Prof. List’s vision to bring art into AVL’s corporate culture, the founding of the AVL Cultural Foundation is truly an outstanding culmination of his cultural commitment. Creative projects and long-standing collaborations with festivals, young up-and-coming artists as well as well-known music personalities annually emphasize the features of Austrian art life with a strong international orientation and involvement.
