Optimized gas ow rates comined with an enhanced mass ow contr ol and direct electronic signal processing increase the accuracy and reproducibility of measurements, especially with regard to the extremely low PM emissions of today. The new particle filter holder design and temperature controlled sampling provide the best conditions for detecting very small particles in minute uantities. Finally, the particle filter holder is designed to e ale to integrate RFI-filter trays for automated fil ter weighing via the AVL Filter Weighing Root FWR. MEASUREMENT PRINCIPLE The PSS i60 SII is a full-ow particulate sampling system used to collect particulates from the diluted ehaust gas on a filter during a test cycle. At the eginning and end of the test cycle, the filter is weighed and the particulate mass is calculated and the background application is considered gravimetric-measurement. APPLICATION The CVS full-ow dilution ased particulate mass determination is also the reference for partial ow determinations. The PSS i60 SII single dilution S is used for l ight duty and passenger car chassis dynos. For heavy-duty and off-road engine testeds the doule dilution version PSS i60 SII is used. Appl ications for engine performance and emission development, cert ification and conformity of production COP are fully covered with the PSS i60 SII. The system is used on transient and stat ionary engine testeds for R, certification and uality control, as well as on chassis dynos for HD vehicles. All functions in the standard operation of the PSS i60 SII are easy and intuitive to perform. Intelligent self-diagnosis functions and fully automated MFC calibration simplifies and reduces maintenance and service work.
